Basel, Quiet, round, beautifully made.
Round lenses with a soft flat edge along the brow. The rim is even all the way round, so nothing sits heavy above your eyes. Where the frame rests on your nose it is the same warm acetate as the front. No metal, nothing cold.
In the 1950s the designers of Basel built everything on one idea: take away what a thing does not need, and what remains will be more beautiful for it. We took the name from them.
So the front is elegant and almost bare. A round shape, a clean line, one small star at each corner.
The arms are light, and each hinge gives a little as you put them on. A year from now they will still sit exactly where they should.

Choose based on your prescription strength: Standard (Index 1.56) for light-to-moderate prescriptions (+2.00 to -2.00) — clearer, lighter and thinner than default lenses. Thin (Index 1.60) for moderate-to strong prescriptions (+4.00 to -4.00) — significantly thinner atthe edges for everyday comfort. Ultra-thin (Index 1.67) — our thinnest and clearest lens, best for strong prescripticons (above +6.00 or below -12.00). Minimizes the "bottle-bottom" effect for a cleaner look and sharper clarity.
